A contractor types a property address, Closlyo returns the roof area and the pitch, prices the job from the contractor's own price book, and produces a quote PDF carrying their licence number and the correct taxes, in French or English. It serves both residential and commercial roofing work, across Canada. ## What problem does it solve? A roofing contractor typically orders a roof measurement report, waits, then builds a quote by hand in a word processor. The homeowner usually hires whoever quoted first. Closlyo shortens that to one step so the quote can be sent the same day. ## How does the measurement work? The contractor enters a property address. Closlyo derives the roof area and the pitch from aerial LiDAR data. Nobody climbs a ladder and no drone is flown. Closlyo does not publish an accuracy percentage, because it does not have one it can stand behind. Area is stated with a design tolerance and edges the system is unsure about are flagged for confirmation on site. Ridge, hip, valley and per-facet area are deliberately withheld. They varied too much in testing to put in front of a customer, so the report does not print them at all rather than printing them with a caveat. Address coverage is genuinely incomplete and varies a great deal by city. When a roof cannot be measured, the contractor types the numbers in and the quote still goes out. ## What happens when it cannot measure a roof? It names the reason. There are sixteen distinct refusal reasons, and each one puts a specific next step on screen: correct the address, try again, or enter the measurements manually. A manual entry form is always available underneath. A failed measurement never blocks a quote. ## How does Closlyo handle Canadian sales tax? Tax is resolved from the property's postal code, not from the contractor's office address, across thirteen provincial and territorial jurisdictions. In Quebec, GST and QST are printed as two separate lines and never combined into a single tax total. That is a legal requirement, and a generic quote template does not know it. The contractor's QST number is printed only if they actually hold one. ## Does Closlyo work in French? Yes. The same quote is produced in French or English from one document, not two files kept in sync. The application interface and every generated PDF are both available in both languages. ## How does pricing and margin work? Closlyo prices from the contractor's own price book: their materials, their labour rates, their waste factor. Margin is derived, not added. A 30 percent markup on $10,000 of cost produces a price of $13,000, which is a margin of 23.08 percent, not 30. A true 30 percent margin prices the same job at $14,285.71. The contractor states the margin they want to hold and Closlyo calculates the price backwards from it. ## Does it prevent mistakes before a quote is sent? Yes. A quote carrying a price that has never been verified is refused, and the refusal names every missing field at once rather than one per attempt. A quote also cannot be sent without the contractor's legal name, address, tax numbers and licence number.
