Privacy Policy

Closlyo is based in Québec, Canada. We protect your information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

When you apply for the beta test, we collect:

• Company name
• Email address
• Phone number, if you choose to provide it
• Number of branches, if you choose to provide it
• The date and time you gave consent to receive updates

We don't ask for payment information, and we don't collect personal information beyond what's needed to run the beta test and send you updates.

We collect this information because you've asked to join our beta test. Canadian privacy law requires your consent before we can send you updates, and you give that consent by checking the consent box on the beta application form. You can withdraw that consent at any time — see "Your rights" below.

We use your information to:

• Send you a weekly update on what we're building
• Invite you to test the beta before general availability
• Ask for feedback that shapes what we build next
• Follow up if you've written to our contact email

We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't build a profile of you beyond what's needed to run the beta test.

This site sets one functional cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) to remember whether you prefer the English or French version of the site. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't track you across other websites.

We don't use any technology that identifies, locates or profiles you. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel, no session recording and no fingerprinting on this site. Québec law requires us to tell you if we used such technology and to let you switch it off; we're telling you instead that there is nothing here to switch off.

We also don't make any decision about you by automated means. Whether a company is invited into the beta is a judgement we make ourselves, one at a time.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing. Two service providers process it on our behalf, and both are United States companies:

• Vercel Inc. hosts this website and serves the pages you're reading.
• Resend holds the contact list and delivers our email. Resend's mail delivery runs on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the United States.

Both are bound by written agreements requiring them to keep your information confidential, to use it only to provide that service, and not to use it for their own purposes. There is no other copy: Closlyo runs no database of its own, so the contact list in Resend is the only place your information lives.

In the United States, with the two providers named above. That means it is subject to United States law, including the possibility of lawful access by US authorities under laws that don't apply in Canada.

Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector requires a privacy impact assessment before personal information is communicated outside Québec, weighing the sensitivity of the information, the purpose, the protections in place and the legal regime where it lands. That assessment is in progress and has not been completed. We're telling you that plainly rather than implying a step has been taken that hasn't. The information involved is limited to business contact details you chose to give us — no payment details and nothing about your customers — and if we change providers, this section changes with them.

The site is served over HTTPS only, with HSTS, a content security policy and the standard protective headers. Access to the contact list is limited to the founder.

Signing up is double opt-in: when you submit the form, nothing is written anywhere until you click the confirmation link in the email we send. If you never click it, your address is never added, and we don't email you again. That means a stranger can't put your address on our list.

No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise. What we can say is what we hold, which is deliberately very little.

We keep your beta application information until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete it, or until early access wraps up and the information is no longer needed for its original purpose — whichever comes first.

You can:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that's inaccurate
• Ask us to delete your information
• Ask us to transfer your information to you, or to a third party you designate, in a structured, commonly used format
• Withdraw your consent to receive updates, at any time, with no effect on any past processing

Every update we send includes a one-click unsubscribe. To exercise any other right, email us at vyoms@closlyo.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with:

• The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) — priv.gc.ca

If a security incident creates a real risk of serious harm to you, we'll notify you and report it to the Commission d'accès à l'information, as required by law.

This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy as the product and our data practices evolve. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do. If a change is significant, we'll let you know by email.
